International Sporting Ambassador – BOBBY WHITE

Bobby is the Captain of the Great Britain Handball team and is setting his sights on competing for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics. He was drafted in to the squad only 4 years ago after applying through a talent transfer programme called Sporting Giants, which aimed to bulk out the Great Britain Volleyball, Handball and Rowing teams with athlete’s who stood at over 190cm.

Since 2008 Bobby has played his Club Handball in Denmark, Austria, and Greece and is currently playing in France. He took on the role of captain after only 3 years of playing the sport and it will be the first time Great Britain have fielded a Handball team at an Olympic Games.

Back in 2000, Handball was voted most popular spectator sport at the Olympic Games in Sydney.
